It’s been a whole year since I photographed little Mollie. Last time I saw her, she was a teeny newborn baby, who was just as laid back as could be. And this time she was just the same! She is, to date, the best tempered one year old I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! Usually the typical one year old will tolerate a one hour session at the most. But Mollie? She let us go on and on and on…and never cried or fussed. By the end, she gave us a quiet little “all done” and yawned a couple of times. Absolutely adorable. Her parents are awesome baby wranglers too. Daddy was playing the guitar, freestyling lyrics, lol. We had maracas and puppets and toys and grandma doing a dance behind me and my camera…It was fun! Both of Mollie’s parents are music teachers of course. :) Hope you like these!

Oh! And if you ever need a DJ for your entertainment needs, for weddings or any event you’re hosting, check out Mollie’s daddy! Here’s his website.

Our Weekend Getaway

August 23, 2010

This past weekend, my husband and I happened to be off together, which just doesn’t happen. I always work at the hospital on the weekend that he is off so we have someone to keep the kids. But now that we’ve moved, my wonderful aunt Cheryl (who is like a grandmother to the kids) keeps them for us when we need her. God bless her! So Jade and I couldn’t decide on what we wanted to do. We thought about doing something for just the two of us, but then decided we would rather do something with the kids, since we don’t get to do anything big with them. (I know, I know. Jade and I don’t get a lot of couple time either–but that’ll come soon. :) ) Anyway, we decided to make a quick trip to the beach! We packed a few things, made a quick reservation for a hotel room, got in the car, and drove to Tybee Island. It took us 4 hours but the kids behaved wonderfully. When we got there, the kids reminded me how different they are from one another. Ashlyn laid eyes on the water for the first time and said, “Woooow! This is so exciting!” And Brent was ecstatic over the SAND. (huh?) So we spent Saturday afternoon, with Brent playing in the sand–he didn’t like the strong current of the waves and how it made him dizzy when the tide would move the waves in and out. And Ashlyn–well, we couldn’t keep her out of the water! She loooved how she could wade in, wait for a wave to build up, and jump into it and let it carry and roll her back to the shore. It was so fun, hearing her giggle and screech. I tell you, I love these kids.

They were flying their kites their aunt Cheryl bought for them. It was perfectly windy and made kite flying a breeze. It was even effortless for my little Brent–who’s just shy of 3 years old. :)

Then we went into Savannah for a bit so we could take a carriage ride for Ashlyn. While waiting, we went into Savannah Candy Kitchen and oh my gosh! Now we know what a kid looks like in a candystore! Ha!

It was SOOOOO hot. We made sure we had plenty of water. Poor Brent was drench in sweat. But he never complained.

On our way home, we stopped at Wormsloe Plantation so I could snap a few pictures of the kids on the oak avenue. This place is so pretty! Definitely going to order a couple of canvases of these. (Sorry Jade! lol)

Sweaty and red-faced, we were ready to head home. Plus Brent had a poopie diaper in the pic below, that we HAD to tend to! Ew!

Ashlyn started her first day of kindergarten a few weeks ago and she’s loving every day. Her first day went great…for her anyway. From the time I walked her to her classroom, I wanted to stay there with her and hold her hand until it was time to come home. I walked her to her little seat at her tiny table, with her name laminated and taped to her tabletop as her placeholder. She quickly sat down and looked around, trying to take it all in. She wasn’t scared at all. She was thrilled. She looked at me as if to say, “Okay….you can go now!” I felt a lump in my throat and tried to swallow it back down. My little girl is growing up!  So little yet so big all at the same time! As I left the classroom, I glanced once more at her. She wasn’t even looking at me. She was talking to her classmate next to her. She was blending right in. I was sad to leave her, but then a part of me felt a huge wave of relief knowing she was going to love kindergarten. And she’s going to be just fine. :)

I’m really enjoying living where are. It’s quite rural compared to where we used to live. But I love how quiet it is and how sweet and friendly our neighbors are. And I love walking around the property. Apple trees and blueberry bushes have drawn some pretty butterflies. I had to take a few pictures around my front yard.

Oh my goodness! Little Sophie was such a joy! She’s as dainty as can be and is sure to be the little princess of the house. She’s got 3 big brothers to keep her safe…and perhaps from ever having a boyfriend in the future! Ha! :) Really, you can see how much she is loved and cherished in this family. Congratulations!!!

Little Mr. Chandler was such a pleasure to photograph. The most laid back baby boy! There were SO many to choose from to post a sneak peek. But here are just a few…

I know I have severely neglected my blog but I’ve had a lot of catching up to do and now that we’re settled in to our new home, I can finally exhale. Whew!

I did this maternity session for my cousin and his wife in my new house–which I just love, by the way! I couldn’t wait to meet miss Adrianna.

Totally Bradley’s idea! He’s so crazy! :)

So my cousin Bradley and his wife, Amber had their baby 10 days ago and I have to say that they were both so GREAT! There aren’t very many moments in our life that touch me more than seeing a man and a woman watching their first child be born. The transformation in their faces, the softening in their eyes, the immediate love they have for this little baby. It’s so sweet. (And the shocked, deer-in-the-headlights look is pretty funny too, ha!) No really–I’m so proud of you guys! :)

The awesomest midwife–Meredith!

She’s finally here and I was so excited to get to do her newborn pictures. Blog readers will be seeing a lot of her! She’s just such a chill baby! It was so fun to get to do whatever I wanted–and in my own house to boot! So we had access to a wider variety of props and backgrounds, which it even more fun. :) I just love her! This preview only scratches the surface of what we got!

Mr. Cale decide to make his debut into this world 2 weeks early. And never have I seen a newborn baby look more like his mommy! What an adorable little boy he is. I’ve been so excited to meet him since I did his mommy’s maternity session, which you can see here. Congratulations, mom & dad! :)

I’m Back!!!

June 22, 2010

Finally! I know I’ve been kind of M.I.A. for a little while. And not many people know why. Well, I have moved back to my husband’s home county and now live in the big city of Canon. (It’s not really–total exaggeration there.) Something we have been trying to do for the last 5 years. We are closer to family now and couldn’t be happier. :) But once we moved in last week, we discovered that there was only one company that offered high speed internet and they wouldn’t be able to connect our internet for 10 working days!!! But they were kind enough to get it going a few days early. :) And I’ve got a LOT of catching up to do! I don’t know what I’d do without the world wide web now. I never realized how dependent I am on it until now!

So now I know you’re asking, “So are you still doing photography?” And the answer is YES! Of course I’m still doing sessions! Everything is staying the same, all booked sessions are still a go. The only thing changing is my area of service. But I’m definitely still serving Clarke & Oconee! If you’re interested in booking a session after August, and you’re not sure if I travel to your area, give me a call or email me. I’ll be happy to let you know. I can now also give you the option of coming to my home for your session, if you don’t mind the drive. :)

I’ve just posted a few sneak peeks from a few sessions I’ve done lately. Scroll down and have a look!

Teresa :)
