Such a Big Boy!

June 4, 2010

It’s so hard to believe how fast our children grow. No matter how hard we try to savor every single sweet moment with them, they’re still growing up right before your very eyes. I’ve known Mr. Caleb since he was born. And he’s come such a long way! He had a rocky journey as a baby but he’s living proof of resiliency! What a sweet boy he is! And so smart! Thanks, Alison, for letting me snap a few pics of him today. :)

I had so much fun spending the afternoon with Silas and his gorgeous family. You may recognize his mommy–I did her maternity a couple of months ago. You can see the blog post here. During her maternity session, I discovered how she loved horses and so I couldn’t resist suggesting the ‘baby on the saddle shot.’ I was so excited that she wanted it as much as I did! So fast forward to her newborn session for Silas and we attempt the shot–about 5 different times! He wasn’t consenting to any of it! We went about our session and got a ton of other shots but right before calling it quits, his mommy suggested we try one more time. And so we did. And we got it! But I’m saving the best for last so you have to scroll through all the other awesome sneak peeks I edited to see it! :)

Daddy and Silas. By the way, daddy is Ross Campbell, MD. Go see him if you need a Dermatologist!

This is big brother, Aiden. Isn’t he just adorable?

Both boys are having a snack when daddy says “And this little piggy cried wee, wee, wee all the way home!”

And the shot we tried a bunch of times. Whew! And so glad we got it! ;) Thank you, Leigh & Ross for allowing me to capture your children during this unforgettable time.

rylan!

April 4, 2010

It’s hard to believe Rylan is already 2 years old! I feel like it was just yesterday that I was in the delivery room, photographing his debut into this world! And now he’s running and talking and laughing. It was fun keeping up with him! Hope you like these, Kem!

miss carlie. {3 years old}

December 2, 2009

What an ABSOLUTE doll! No really–she looks like a porcelain doll! With a sort of old fashioned, Victorian beauty, miss Carlie is simply beautiful. She started out a little shy but you could tell she liked being in front of the camera. Especially when we got her into one of my pettiskirts. Boy, did she like that! Carlie’s mommy and I work together on L&D over at St. Mary’s. I’m loving these, Holly! I hope you do too. :)

What a treat it was to hang out with a couple of GORGEOUS kids! Oh my goodness. Nora just hammed it up for the camera and baby Claire had other ideas–she wanted to sleep and certainly didn’t want me making googly noises and silly faces at her. Ha! But despite it all, I did get some beautiful captures of her sweet little face. :) Not to mention a few of the rest of the beautiful family too!

Kids! {Summer.Ashlyn.Brent.}

September 10, 2009

My friend Nikki and I got together this evening in an attempt to photograph each other’s kids. We figured that it would be easier if I photographed her daughter, Summer, and she photographed my kids, Ash & Brent. Well. Let’s just say we still had to work hard to get pictures. Summer was a lot easier for me than Brent. Ashlyn’s not so bad anymore. She actually likes to have her pictures taken and immediately chimp the camera (look on the screen at the picture she just took). But here’s some of what I managed to get.

And go see what Nikki managed to get of my kiddos. Check them out: http://www.nikkibanikphotography.com

Trekking through the little farmplace. The kids all hopping & skipping & running everywhere.

Out take: So many of these. Brent is such a little firecracker. By the end of the evening, I was yelling. He becomes immune to directions. He gets to where he doesn’t care about them anymore!

I have been searching for this chair on craigslist, antique stores, yard sales and flea markets for what seems like an eternity! I have had visions of a gold velvet chair in my head with the irresistible need to take pictures of kids sitting or climbing on it. There’s just something about it. The color, the texture, the way it pops out in the green of the grass. And nothing could go better with it than my sweet, challenging-to-take-pictures-of children. They are definitely a photographer’s children. Desensitized to the bribes and attempted distractions and coercing. They make me work for my photographs. But I do love them so.

Oh I could just squeeze her! What a sweetie. 14 months old and she TOWERS over my 22 month old son! It was a spur-of-the-moment mini shoot. I happened to have my camerabag with me while visiting my aunt Cheryl in Hartwell today. I can’t resist an adorable, happy little baby girl in a cute Sunday dress.
