So my cousin Bradley and his wife, Amber had their baby 10 days ago and I have to say that they were both so GREAT! There aren’t very many moments in our life that touch me more than seeing a man and a woman watching their first child be born. The transformation in their faces, the softening in their eyes, the immediate love they have for this little baby. It’s so sweet. (And the shocked, deer-in-the-headlights look is pretty funny too, ha!) No really–I’m so proud of you guys!
Getting ready to go to be, but I just had to post a few from Channe’l & Nick’s birth of little miss Brooklyn. She took her time getting here but she was well worth the wait. Congratulations! She’s such a beauty–although the apple apparently doesn’t fall far from the tree!
Landon decided to put his mommy into labor in the wee hours of the night. I was called to come when mom was 6-7 centimeters. I just knew she would go fast but she fooled me! After a good bit of pushing, he came into this world, greeting us with a loud, glorious cry. If you’ve delivered at St. Mary’s Family Birth Center before, then you may have been well taken care of by this new mommy. She’s a labor & delivery nurse too! Thank you, Kara and Nick, for allowing me to document such an intimate time in your lives. It will never be the same.
I feel compelled to share in the truly inspiring story of a newborn baby boy. His name is Hogan. Hogan was born at 37 weeks by c-section, weighing in at 3 pounds and 3 ounces. He has a chromosomal disorder called Trisomy 18. Trisomy 18 is a condition that is not compatible with life. His strength, determination, his family’s faith in the Lord leaves me in awe. This is his birth story. You can read more about his journey on his blog at http://hogandominy.blogspot.com Please pray for Hogan and his family during this difficult time.
This family has a very special place in my heart. They’ve gone through so very much in the last two years. This is miss Audrey Anna. She’s the little sister to big brother Claxton, and a special angel brother, who watches over her in heaven, named Britton. Britton went to live with our Lord, born still at birth in December 2008. It’s been a long road of faith, love, and healing. And now the Lord has blessed this family with a BEAUTIFUL baby girl to join their loving family. What a lucky little girl she is. This post is long over due. Can’t wait to do her newborn pictures too!
I was honored and privileged to be able to document the birth of a such a loved, adored, special baby boy. His name is Hogan and he is born with Trisomy 18. You can read all about his emotional journey into this world on his family blog at http://hogandominy.blogspot.com. God bless this beautiful family.
Just HAD to post a few from the birth session today. What a beautiful family! Truly an emotional day. (((sigh))) I just love having the honor and privilege of witnessing this miracle time after time. Congratulations, Jason & Mandy! Savor every second of these newborn days–they will FLY by before you know it!
Hope, a nurse on L&D where I work, is a sweet woman who brought her sweet baby boy into this world yesterday. He insisted on hanging out in her tummy, completely comfy and content sitting indian style and refused to turn head down. So, alas, he was born via c-section. Which was so beautiful and fast and uneventful (a good thing!). He was born with arms wiiiiide open and one eye open, gleaming at this bright new world. Congratulations, Hope and Jamie. He’s absolutely beautiful. LOTS more pics to go through, but could only get these out right away. Thanks for letting me capture this important time in your lives! (And I’m hoping you’ll hang out with us on L&D on Christmas day too–so we can play some more! )
This baby boy is so special. His family holds a special place in my heart and has gone through such an emotional journey. I love them to pieces. I volunteered to photograph her birth, but, unfortunately, timing just wasn’t on our side. But the next day, I finally got to meet Mr. Elijah and feel the relief and joy and emotional sigh in the weight of his warm, squishy tiny body and the little coos and whimpers he makes. Congratulations. I’ll see you soon for more newborn pictures!
Look! He was smiling!!!!
A friend or family member of theirs brought them this fuzzy blanket as a gift. So of course I had to open it, spread it out and put him on it!
